As a SOMWBA, WBE and DBE member, we have the opportunity to bid on upcoming marketing projects to companies and organizations that receive State and Federal Funding. The United Sates Federal Government requires that any company or organization that receives funding by them to use SOMWBA, WBE or DBE members as a vendor to add a competitive edge to the quotes.
SOMWBA certifies companies for both State and Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification programs.
We are also DBE certified by the State of New Hampshire. DBE program is primarily funded by the United States Department of Transportation. Its goal is to ensure nondiscrimination in the award and administration of federally assisted contracts. This goal is enforced on a federal level by assigning state quotas for DBE participation in federal contracting. To meet these quotas, government agencies favor DBEs and organizations that support and partner with them when making procurement decisions. In New Hampshire, the DBE program is administered by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT). The NHDOT ensures that all prime contractors and consultants demonstrate good faith effort in soliciting quotes/bids/proposals from DBEs. Each project that gets bid on has a 5% DBE contract goal.
